Ship's Mail

Here is a letter that never saw Germany. Mailed aboard a German steam ship, traveling to the United States, the letter was sent back across the Atlantic to Manchester, England. A 20 Pfennig foreign letter rate was paid.

Letter mailed aboard the German steam ship "EMS" on December 9, 1890 prior to reaching port.
